Jack Ingram Volkswagen Review

Mr. Ingram,

I purchased a used 2007 Jetta for my daughter Kelly in 2008 & she loved the car.  I purchased the car from Capitol Chevrolet after first visiting Jack Ingram VW & never receiving a call back on a used Jetta from the salesman.  Kelly met every goal we set for her in her first two years at Auburn & my wife & I decided to reward her with a new vehicle.  Our family has purchased a dozen new Hondas over the years & received great service from the dealer so I tried to talk Kelly into an Accord but she wanted a new Jetta.  I called Guy Martin before visiting your dealership & explained my previous experience & he assured me I would be pleased with the Jack Ingram sales staff.  Kelly arrived at the dealership an hour ahead of me & Fred Jackson assisted her in finding a Jetta in the color & trim level she desired.  When my wife & I arrived, we were treated like repeat customers by Fred & guy instead of “tire kickers” – an experience I had previously only found at the Honda dealer.  We leased the car that day & Kelly was extremely pleased.

For the past few days Kelly had trouble removing the key from the ignition.  Sometimes she had to restart the car, back up, pull forward & repark before the key would release.  However, yesterday the key would not come out of the ignition no matter what tricks she attempted.  When she called the service department she was it would be Friday before she could bring the car in for repair.  She called me upset because she was afraid someone would steal the car on campus since she had to leave the key in the ignition.  My wife met her at your dealership yesterday, explained the situation to Fred Jackson & asked for his help.  Fred got the service department to inspect the problem which was determined to be a defective ignition.  A replacement part will not arrive until next week but Fred arranged a loaner car until her Jetta is repaired.

 Although you never wish for problems, sometimes that is when you discover if customer service is all talk or really a part of your mission.  As pleased as I was with the Jack Ingram buying process, I was more pleased with the way your staff handled this problem.  The next vehicle we purchase will come from Jack Ingram VW.
